Dallas and Lucille Kinne welcomed Jackie into the world on April 15, 1932 in Barry, Illinois. The oldest of five kids, she was.
On Christmas Eve in 1948, she got married to Raymond Sohn. Within a few years, they relocated to Ottawa, Illinois, where they remained until 1967, when they moved to Newhall, California. Ronald (Bonita) Sohn, Vickie (Joe) Howton, Kevin (Tracy) Sohn, and Cherri (Larry) Aydelotte were their four children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four siblings and her husband Raymond and son Kevin. She is survived by her children, and their spouses, 10 grandchildren and their spouses, 18 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who loved their “Aunt Jackie” and looked forward to her visits back to Quincy and their trips to California where she made sure they had the California “experience.” Disneyland, beaches, Universal Studios.
Jackie was a hairdresser by trade and owned the Hairitage Beauty Salon for many years. She later decided to try her hand as a travel agent. She did that for many years and took some great trips with her husband and their friends. She was very involved in the community and had many friends and enjoyed social events.
When her husband was diagnosed with cancer she was a stalwart in his care and treatment and spent many nights at Henry Mayo Hospital by his side. A few years later when her son was diagnosed with cancer she again resumed her days helping his wife take care of him.
Jackie moved to Los Osos California in 2003 with her daughter Cherri and her three children Kailey, Rainey and Reece. Jackie was involved with her new community. She was a constant at the baseball field where Reece played baseball. She worked at the Monarch school district part time. She was “grandma” to all the grandkid’s friends and they all loved her.At 90 years old Jackie passed peacefully in her sleep. She was a loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A memorial is being planned for some time in early 2023.
