Carl Howard Death, Obituary – Carl Howard Austin, who was 90 years old and lived in Wayne City, passed away on December 10th, 2022 in the comfort of his own home. He had lived there for the past 90 years. His parents were Roe and Lula (Linder) Austin, and he was born on October 8, 1932 in the city of Keenes, which is located in the state of Illinois. Carl Austin wed Judith Kay (Jones) Austin on April 28, 1962; this year, the pair will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary together. The wedding took place in Austin’s hometown of Austin, Texas.
Carl was able to secure a position at Airtex following his graduation from college. After that, he joined the army and served for the following two years in the Korean War while stationed in Salzburg, Austria.
During that time, he was engaged in combat. Carl was the owner and operator of the business known as Austin’s Lime Service. Carl was the owner. In 2006, he left his job at Walmart and went into retirement. Carl was an active member of the Wayne City Baptist Church during his whole adult life and was a devout follower of the Southern Baptist faith. Carl is survived by his wife Judy of Wayne City, Illinois; his three children, Howard Austin (and his wife Debbie) of Wayne City, Susan Austin (and her husband Kerry) Garner of Edwardsville, and Vicky Austin of Belleville; his three grandchildren, Ethan Garner of Edwardsville, Jade (John) Dunham of Wayne City, and Wyatt Austin of Wayne City; and three sisters-in-law,
Elsie Austin of Sims, Ellen Trotter of Peoria, Arizona, and Bess Carl Austin was predeceased by his paternal and paternal grandparents, as well as by his three older brothers, Harold Austin, Jack Austin, and Gib Austin. Carl was the Austin brother who came in last place in age.
