Craig Johnson Obituary, Death – Craig O. Johnson, age 70, of Yorkville, Illinois, died away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Accent Care Hospice in Naperville, Illinois. He was surrounded by his loving family during his final moments. He was the son of James R. Johnson and Hazel (Holman) Johnson, and he was born on December 19, 1951 in Spring Valley, Illinois.
On December 12, 1970, Craig and Ina Harkins exchanged wedding vows, and the two of them proceeded to spend the next 51 years of their lives together in wedded bliss.
Caterpillar, Inc. in Aurora, Illinois was Mr. Johnson’s place of employment throughout the thirty years that led up to his retirement. After Craig’s retirement, he took a job at the Kendall County Forest Preserve and stayed there for several years. Mr. Johnson was a faithful attendee of the Cross Lutheran Church, which is located in Yorkville, Illinois. Craig was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother, and uncle who will be sorely missed by his family and friends. His legacy will live on in their hearts forever.
Craig is survived by his wife, Ina Johnson, who lives in Yorkville, Illinois; his daughter, Amy (Scott) Gengler, who also lives in Yorkville; his son-in-law, Jon Berg, who lives in Homer Glenn, Illinois; his grandchildren, Chloe and Quinn Campbell, Sawyer Gengler, Ellie, William, and Natalie Berg; his sisters, Penny Peterson, Sue McGhee, and Dawn Johnnic; as well as a number of nieces and nephews
His mother, Hazel Wilfong, his father, James Johnson and Patricia Johnson, his daughter, Rebecca Berg, and his nephew, Hunter Johnnic, all passed away before him. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. On Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM, there will be a Memorial Funeral Service held at Cross Lutheran Church, which is located at 8609 IL Route 47 in Yorkville, Illinois. The burial will be a private affair.
