Jon Beedell Death, Obituary – Everyone in the Desperate Men family is in utter disbelief and immense grief after learning that Jon Beedell, a founding member of Desperate Men and the group’s Co-Artistic Director, was taken from this world in a terrible accident. Beedell’s passing has left everyone in the Desperate Men family reeling. Beedell was one of the Co-Artistic Directors for the show “Desperate Men,” which he directed. It is unknown exactly when he passed away, however it happened to him while he was sound asleep on either Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
He had been dealing with his illness for some time. Thanks to the disclosure of this knowledge, I find myself totally unable to articulate my thoughts and am at a loss for words. Jon has been such a wonderful friend (and influence) from a distance ever since he made learning about science come to life in the silliest ways imaginable for children in Hong Kong through the British Council Hong Kong. This has been the case ever since Jon made learning about science come to life for children in Hong Kong through the British Council Hong Kong. This has been the case since since Jon brought the concept of science education to life for students in Hong Kong by doing it in the most ridiculous ways possible.
This accomplishment would not have been possible without the help of the British Council in Hong Kong. As a result of the activities that I participated in throughout those three visits, I was able to amass a multitude of valuable memories that I will always cherish because of the experiences that I had there. We are at a loss for words since the outpouring of emotion that has been displayed for him has completely taken us by surprise and rendered us speechless. We do not know what to say because of this. He had a short fuse, was irreverent, and was of great value. He had the ability to make mincemeat out of the reality that had only a thin veneer.
We are keeping his family and all of his many, many friends in our thoughts and prayers as they go through this challenging time. We are grateful to have so many wonderful people in our life thanks to him. At a subsequent get-together, we are going to commemorate him in a unique manner by doing something very memorable for him, and we are going to do this because he deserves it.
