After some time had passed, the Madison County Coroner’s Office determined that the driver had passed away as a direct result of the injuries that were sustained in the collision. The driver has been identified as a 29-year-old resident of Alton named Lucas C. Chesnut. According to Ford, who continued, “preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Alby Street when it failed to navigate the turn in the roadway, crossed the center line and the southbound lane of traffic, and left the west side of the roadway.”
After that, there is a good chance that the motorcycle collided with a utility pole and a tree in the front yard of 3024 Alby Street. The Alton Police Department and the Madison County Coroner’s Office are currently working together to conduct the investigation, which is still active and ongoing.
