In addition to his work as a volunteer for the Kimberley Community Development Society, Bert Banks served a combined total of seventeen years on the City Council over the course of his professional life. Bert’s contributions were a big factor in the Bavarian beauty that can be found all around Kimberley, including the golf courses, camping, swimming facilities, and Mark Creek Dam. Bert was instrumental in the construction of the dam, and his efforts contributed significantly to its completion.
Bert Banks was not only a long-time participant in the Association of Kootenay Boundary Local Governments (AKBLG), during which time he also held the position of President of that organization, but he was also a very long-time member of the Association of Kootenay Boundary Local Governments.
