In addition to receiving his high school diploma from Martin High School in Arlington, he went on to earn a degree in Christian studies from Abilene Christian University.
David delighted in the opportunity to work with young people of all ages. While he was attending college, he spent one summer volunteering with a youth group in England and the other volunteering at an orphanage in Nigeria. Both of these experiences took place while he was abroad. Both of these experiences were a part of his participation in mission work in foreign countries. After completing his studies at the university, he spent the following two summers serving as a youth leader at a church in Arlington, Texas.
David was a huge movie buff who also enjoyed acting. It was well known that he could convincingly portray a variety of characters. His interest in the motion picture business led him to relocate to Los Angeles, California, and he stayed a resident of that city for a number of years. David was able to locate friendly company in each location he traveled to. People will remember him most for his ability to make other people laugh as well as the kind quality of his heart. These are the qualities that will define his legacy. The time that David spent working at Starbucks in both California and Texas was a wonderful experience for him.
