Jack Crowell Obituary, Death – Jack, who was 37 years old, passed away on December 4th, 2022. His parents, Huelin A. Crowell and Cindy Sherer Crowell, welcomed him into the world on January 25, 1985 in Selma, Alabama. Jack, who graduated from Natchitoches Central High School in 2003, was a standout placekicker for the Chiefs football team, earning awards such as All-State, All-Area, All-District, and All-Parish during the course of the two seasons he played for the Chiefs.
He has the most points scored on kicks in the history of the institution. After graduation, Jack enrolled at Mississippi State University and played football for Jackie Sherrill, who had previously been named the Walter Camp Coach of the Year and three times the Southwestern Conference Coach of the Year. Jack attended Mississippi State University for both his undergraduate studies in 2007 and his doctoral studies in 2008, and he was a devoted fan of the Bulldogs throughout his academic career.
After beginning a career in forestry, he went to Oxford, Mississippi, where he met the love of his life, Alex Clay. They were inseparable in every sense of the word; both were brimming with love, vitality, and unique personalities. After getting married in 2014, Jack and Alex would become the foundation of the nuclear family, which would be completed by the birth of their children, Jackson in 2018 and Elizabeth in 2022. They created a home that many of their other friends would refer to as a “All-American Family,” replete with their outgoing and rambunctious dachshund named Wallace.
Jack had a profound dedication to the forestry and engineered wood products industry, which involves the cultivation of trees and the production of forest products that enhance people’s lives in fundamental ways. His work ethic, temperament, and experience were highly sought after at Weyerhaeuser, where he had been employed for the past 14 years. His most recent role with Weyerhaeuser was that of Raw Materials Manager for the North Louisiana Area.
