Joe David Williams Obituary, Death – Joe David Williams, age 76, of Eddyville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He had lived in Eddyville all of his life. He held the position of Recreational Leader with the Kentucky Department of Corrections until his retirement. Both the Potters House Baptist Worship Center in Smithland, Kentucky and the Joppa Masonic Lodge in Eddyville were places of membership for Joe.
He had served in the United States Army and now worked as a locksmith. Surviving family members include his wife of 56 years, Brenda Jane Johnson Williams, of Eddyville, Kentucky; two sons, David (Jennifer) Williams of Grand Rivers, Kentucky and Jamie (Tahney) Williams of Eddyville, Kentucky; three brothers, Edison (Cherry) Williams, Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky, Bobby (Donna) Williams of Eddyville, Kentucky, and Gaylon (Jennifer) Williams of Eddyville, Kentucky; a sister-in Joe’s parents, Edison Williams, Sr. and Barbara Stallons Williams, as well as one daughter-in-law, Samantha Williams, two sisters, Naomi Wells and Elizabeth Ward, and one brother, Jimmy Williams, passed away before he did.
The Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville will be open for visitation on the day of the funeral, December 12, 2022, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. At one o’clock in the afternoon at the funeral home, Bro. Andrew Sexton will officiate the funeral service, which will be followed by a Masonic service. After the funeral, the burial will take place in the New Bethel Cemetery in Lyon County.
