John Molyneux Death, Obituary – We were quite shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of John Molyneux, who was a member of the People Before Profit organization. When John travelled to Ireland in 2010, he already had a lifetime’s worth of experience in political activism under his belt thanks to the fact that he became a socialist in 1968 and had been active politically ever since. But when he arrived in our country, rather than slowing down, he dived deeply into establishing People Before Profit and the struggle for socialism from the bottom up in this country. Instead of unwinding, he chose to do this instead.
He was an excellent writer who authored several books and essays on a wide range of topics, and his work can be found in a wide number of formats. These works, which remain a great resource for people who are seeking to strengthen the battle today, cover a wide range of topics, which is one of the many reasons why they are still relevant. Not only did he write about concepts, but he also put those ideas into practice in the real world. He was sincerely dedicated to both of these endeavors. This was notably obvious in the work that he did to develop the anti-racist movement and the environmental movement.
He was a pioneer in both of these fields. It was also seen in the strenuous work that he put in to develop his own local chapter of People Before Profit in Drimnagh His loss is a devastating blow, not only to the greater socialist movement but also to those who counted him among their circle of friends. Those who counted him among their circle of friends have been dealt a catastrophic blow. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to his companion Mary, as well as to the rest of his family and friends who were affected by his passing.
