Melissa Parris Death, Obituary – The news of Mrs. Melissa Parris’ loss has left us with heavy hearts, and we would like to offer our most profound sympathies to her family and to all of her close friends. Both the other instructors at Woodland Heights and the children that Mrs. Parris instructed will remember her favorably for a very long time because of the significant role she played in the school and how much she will be missed by both groups. As we break the news to everyone in District Six about the passing of a much-loved educator, we would like to offer our most sincere sympathies to each and every one of you.
Twenty-five years ago, Melissa Parris was an educator at Woodland Heights Elementary School. She taught first grade at the time. She felt a profound sense of responsibility for her children, which she fulfilled by teaching them not just the essentials of academics but also how to be good friends and neighbors who are always willing to learn and grow together. She had a strong affection for her children. While Melissa was fighting her illness, she maintained a positive attitude and used the following adage as her personal mantra: “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” Everyone at Woodland Heights Elementary School saw Melissa as a role model for teachers and found her to be an inspiration.
They looked up to her as a model educator. She had a combined thirty years of experience working in the field of education, and there is no doubt that she will be missed. There is not a shred of doubt in our minds that her legacy will be carried on by the countless individuals whose lives she altered. We are keeping her family, friends, and the community of individuals at Woodland Heights school who love her very much in our thoughts and prayers.
