Alaney Buie Obituary, Death – On September 4, 2021, Alaney Buie, who had reached the age of 90, passed away without suffering. On February 24, 1931, he was welcomed into the world by his parents, W.O. Buie and Mary Etta Hudgins Buie, in the city of Tyler, Texas. Before he turned two years old, his father went away unexpectedly. He entered the Methodist Children’s home in Waco, Texas, when he was 7 years old and remained there until he turned 18 years old.
He went on to become a renowned graduate and valued alumnus of the home. The following year, in 1953, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. He served in the Cadet Corps, after which he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and assigned to duty in Okinawa and Kuma Shima respectively. Following his discharge from active duty in the Air Force after serving for four years, Jeff found work with Texaco, Houston Natural Gas, and Enron.
He held the position of Senior Vice President at Enron Gas Marketing Inc. till the time of his retirement in the year 1990. After that, he transitioned into a consulting role within the oil and gas business. Both of Jeff’s parents as well as his devoted wife of 47 years, Floretta Anne Greiner Buie, as well as his brother Weldon Oscar Buie (Inez) and sister Mary Thomasine Berg had passed away before him (Eric Berg).
Carrie Marie Dyer (Richard), Mary Lynn Gropp (Ronald), and Jeffrey David Buie, his three children, are the ones who will carry on his legacy once he passes away (Paulette). Brandon, Nick, Kristen, Ashley, Amy, Jeff, and Corinelise are her grandchildren, and her dearest friend Le Laine “Laney” Whiteman and her family are also pictured here. He was an avid participant in a variety of sports, including golf, fishing, hunting, and the April Sound Tuesday Touchdown Association, which he founded. But above all else, he treasured the time he spent with his family, particularly his highly admired and accomplished grandchildren.
