On December 5th, 1939, Charles was brought into the world in Union, Mississippi. The year 1939 saw the occurrence of this event. In addition to being a member of Crossgates Baptist Church, he was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he had served during his time in the military. In addition to that, he served our country. After spending a substantial portion of his career at Cataphote Inc. working in the laboratory, he later pursued and achieved success in a second career working for Jitney, the company from which he eventually retired.
The majority of his work life was devoted in various scientific research capacities. Charles was known as a “fixer,” and he derived a great deal of satisfaction from designing and developing brand-new processes and products from scratch. When he was outside, he was in his element, and you could frequently find him tending to his garden or working in his yard there. He was never happier than when he was outside. Outside, in the fresh air, was where he found the most joy in life.
In addition to that, he was an avid supporter of LSU athletics, he had a passion for fishing, and every September he accompanied his wife on a vacation to Destin, Florida. His devoted wife of half a century, Carolyn L. Bradley, his daughter and her husband, Elizabeth and Rucel Mangrobang, his granddaughter, Hana Mangrobang, and a number of aunts, cousins, extended family members, and friends are among those who outlived him. His death was brought on by a battle with pancreatic cancer.
