Edward Boswell Obituary, Death – Ed Boswell served as principal at Orland Junior High School for many years, and we are deeply saddened to learn of his demise today. His pupils had nothing but adoration for him. No matter how far he had to travel, you could reliably find him sitting in the stands during each and every one of Phoebe’s volleyball matches. As soon as he was hired at OJ, he single-handedly changed the entire atmosphere there and did his best to encourage staff to treat and care for students and parents as if they were family. He did this by doing his best to encourage staff to treat and care for students and parents as if they were family. Even professional athletes were brought in to inspire the youngsters of the junior high school. Unfortunately, these children, who are now in high school, are mourning his passing tonight. Because of the difference he made in Phoebe’s life, Devin and I will be eternally thankful to him. Remember to say a prayer for his family whenever the thought occurs to you. Before being promoted to his current position as the Director of Middle School Administration this academic year, Boswell was the principal at Ira Jones Middle School for a total of six years. Since 2009, Miller has been serving in the role of Assistant Principal at the Indian Trail Middle School. She will take the place of Dr. John Harper, the superintendent of schools, remarked that both Dr. Boswell and Ms. Miller are outstanding educators who have established themselves as successful at the middle school level. We have no doubt that both of them are going to be successful in the new roles they have been given. Miller began her career as an educator in 2001 at Grissom Junior High School in Tinley Park, Illinois, where she worked as a full-time substitute teacher. She worked at Crete-Monee Middle School in University Park for the subsequent four years as a teacher of Drama, a teacher of Summer Reading, and a teacher for at-risk and underachieving kids. All of these positions were held simultaneously. In 2005, she took on the role of Dean of Students and held that position until 2006, when she moved to Indian Trail to fill the same role there.
“A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives,” remarked Miller, quoting Jackie Robinson. “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.” “I wholeheartedly believe that, and I will do everything in my power to uphold the tenets of that concept in my interactions with Heritage Grove’s pupils, faculty, and parents.”
From 1995 until 1999, Boswell began his career in education by instructing middle school students in social studies and language arts at Oswego’s Traughber Middle School. While in Oswego, Boswell was also involved in the coaching of a variety of high school and middle school athletic teams. In 1999, he started working for District 202 as the dean of students at Heritage Grove Middle School. In 2004, he was promoted to the position of assistant principal at Ira Jones Middle School, and in 2006, he was promoted to the position of principal there.
Since 2010, Boswell has also served as a co-leader of the Anti-Bullying Task Force for District 202. The mission of the Task Force is to develop a comprehensive strategy for educating students about bullying, preventing it, and responding to incidents of it. “”I cannot express how thrilled I am to become a member of the Aux Sable Learning Community,” Boswell stated.
“Working with students, instructors, and parents on a daily basis was something I truly missed doing this past year, despite the fact that it was a really beneficial learning experience for me.” The role of principal is really gratifying, and I feel fortunate to hold it while representing my alma mater, Aux Sable High School “he remarked.
