Lynda Austin Death, Obituary – After learning of Lynda Austin’s passing, the Board of Supervisors of DeSoto County would like to take this opportunity to offer their most sincere condolences to her family during this difficult time and to let them know how sorry they are for their loss by expressing how sorry they are for their own loss. We are truly sorry for the loss that you have had to go through, and our condolences go out to you. We are conscious of the value that she possessed for each and every one of you in particular. Austin has been of service to the community of Walls in the past, having held the positions of both Mayor and Alderman. The first position that Austin ever had was that of Mayor, and the second position that he ever held was that of an Alderman.
The week before, she went out of her way to do something that was totally unanticipated and hadn’t been planned for at all. She even went so far as to do it on purpose. She even went so far as to take a detour in order to complete the task. Even more unsettling is the fact that she did it on purpose in spite of knowing the consequences. Despite the fact that it was intended to take place the day before, the Celebration of Life that was supposed to take place yesterday really took place today, which was the day that it was supposed to take place. However, this did not prevent Lynda from continuing to donate her time and energy to the local community once she was no longer in office.
Lynda served as Mayor for a total of two terms before deciding to step down from the role. She became actively involved with a wide variety of humanitarian organizations, and as a result, several of those groups ultimately chose her to serve as a board member on their respective organizations. This category encompasses a wide variety of organizations, some examples of which are the House of Grace, the DeSotoArts Council, and the Community Foundation of North Mississippi. We ask that you say some prayers for Lynda’s family and friends, who are going through a tough time, as well as for the Board of Supervisors of DeSoto County, who are also going through a difficult time right now. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you. Please remember them in your prayers and keep them in your thoughts. Without the help that you provide, they will be unable to carry out their duties.
