Seth Peterson Obituary, Death – After hearing this morning that Lt. Seth Peterson had died away, the Charleston Fire Department as well as the Peterson family are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. Before accepting a position with the City of Charleston in West Virginia, Seth, who was born and raised in the region, volunteered his time with the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department. The City of Charleston is located in the state of West Virginia (PTFD).
This evening, while Lieutenant Seth Petersen was at his house, he suddenly left his job as a firefighter for the Charleston Fire Department, where he had worked for the previous 13 years. It was found out that Lieutenant Petersen’s most recent place of employment was in fact Station 1, which was also his former place of employment. After many years of service in the Teays Valley Fire Department, Lieutenant Petersen rose through the ranks to become Captain.
During his time there, he held the position of both Lieutenant and Captain. In addition to it, he worked as a paramedic. The news of Lieutenant Petersen’s departure has left us in a state that cannot be effectively described as either shock or grief. Instead, we are in a state that cannot be adequately described as either shock or grief. Lieutenant Petersen was described by Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin as the kind of person who prioritized the requirements of others over his own and who cared more than anything else about providing assistance to other people.
His dedication to the community of Charleston and the surrounding area was a clear example of this quality on his part. “As a result of his unflinching commitment to the inhabitants of Charleston and the surrounding area, it is abundantly clear that Lieutenant Petersen was the kind of person who put the requirements of others ahead of his own. This was something that he did without fail.”
