David Ramsbotham Death, Obituary – As a consequence of learning the sad news regarding Lord David Ramsbotham’s passing, everyone in this location is experiencing a profound sense of bereavement. He was an outstanding advocate for the rights of vulnerable people and led our group for a decade while simultaneously acting as the chair of the organization during that time. He also served as a leader of our organization. As a result of his leadership, the legal rights of inmates who had been diagnosed with ABI significantly improved during his tenure as warden. During his time as a General in the UK Army and then as Chief Inspector of Prisons,
he became acutely aware of the critical need to provide care and assistance to individuals who had sustained an acquired brain damage. He has since dedicated his career to addressing this issue (ABI). Because the example of leadership that he set for the rest of us was so motivating, having him serve as the leader of our group was an extremely humbling and rewarding experience for all of us. In recognition of everything he has accomplished in this industry, he was presented with a lifetime achievement award by the UKABIF in November, and we are overjoyed that he was able to receive his award.
We are pleased that he was honored with this award, and we are overjoyed that he was able to receive it. We will miss him very, very much, and both in this life and the next, our thoughts are with the people that he has left behind. We shall miss him very, very much. We will always think of him with a lot of warm regard.
