Ellen Willingham Death, Obituary – As a result of Ellen Willingham’s unanticipated departure, each and every one of us is experiencing a great deal of grief. Ellen was our very special guest of honor for the Fall Fair that took place in 2016. She was an outstanding member of the community who volunteered her time and took part in our annual fall fairs. In addition, she was a vendor at the Farmers Market for a significant amount of time. She was also a prominent figure in our farming community, holding the position of President of the Pender Islands Farmers’ Institute for a considerable amount of time.
During this trying time, we are keeping Janet and Kevin, their family, and all of Ellen’s friends in our thoughts and prayers. Also in our thoughts and prayers are Ellen’s friends and family.
We are writing to inform you of the demise of our wonderful mother, Ellen Willingham, and do so with the utmost regret as well as a sense of great loss. Her funeral is going to be held at the Pender Island Cemetery on this coming Saturday, the 17th of December, at 11:30 in the morning. After the burial, there will be a liturgy followed by a small celebration held at the St. Peter’s Anglican Church in the neighborhood.
We are aware that not everyone who expresses an interest in attending will be able to do so because of the short notice and the fact that it is the Christmas season. Because of these factors, our ability to help in any meaningful way is constrained, and we are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. We are excited to plan a larger meeting in the spring or summer of 2023 in order to honor not only the remarkable life that Mom lead, but also the passing of our father at the end of September. This event will take place either in the spring or the summer. Because life is so delicate and unpredictable, you should always make sure to tell the people you care about that you love them, and you should always embrace the people you care about. Life is so fragile and unpredictable.
