Jackie Terrell Death, Obituary – Niceville, Florida- Jackie Terrell, age 75, passed away on November 23, 2022 in Niceville, Florida, due to difficulties associated with COPD. She was our wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. On February 9, 1947, in the city of Salina, Utah, Jackie was brought into the world by her parents, Beryl and Phil Nielsen. She received her diploma from North Sevier High School in 1965, the same year that she wed Lynn Squires. In the years leading up to their divorce in 1978, they co-parented their one and only child, Kim, in West Valley City, Utah. In 1979, she tied the knot with Michael Terrell, and as a result, the couple was blessed with three further children: Kristi, Mandy, and Wade.
After the passing of her husband Mike in 2014, Jackie relocated to Florida so that she could be closer to her daughter Kim. Jackie spent many years in the workforce in the roles of secretary and office manager. Her ability to “manage the show” and her meticulous attention to detail were both admirable qualities, but the thing that brought her the most joy was simply being with her family. Jackie cherished activities such as gathering “treasures,” basking in the sun, playing cards, going camping, decorating for the holidays, baking, and making candies. She also enjoyed traveling, particularly to Arizona during the winter months. She had a lovely talent for writing, and she shared her poems with a great number of people she cared about.
Jackie was a sentimental, fun-loving, and caring individual. Because of her friendly and outgoing demeanor, everyone who was in her presence felt instantly at ease. She had a childlike spirit and was the light of the party; she made every event into something memorable. She was a wonderful grandmother who spoiled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was known for being a goofy and fun person to be around. She had a profound capacity for love and was also dearly loved; she will be mourned for all time. Jackie is survived by her daughter, Kim Squires Cohen, who is married to Cliff Cohen of Destin, Florida, and her grandchildren Tyler and Sophie;
her stepdaughter, Kristi Terrell Morrison, who is married to Anthony Morrison of Salt Lake City, and her grandchildren Aubrey, Chance, Kylee, Mya, and Julian; her stepdaughter, Mandy Terrell Wilder, who is married to Josh Wilder of Riverton, and her grandchildren Keyvan, Matisse, and Bentley; She was predeceased by her parents, her devoted husband Michael Terrell, her sister and dearest friend Shanna Winkel, her stepfather Paul Ball, and her stepson Wade Terrell. Her parents and husband Michael Terrell both passed away. Prior to her passing, Jackie enthusiastically put her faith in Jesus Christ and accepted him as her Lord and Savior.
Her dying desire was to have her body cremated, and for her ashes to be dispersed in the seas of the Gulf of Mexico at the city of Destin, Florida. This wish will be granted during the summer when her family gets together. A memorial service will be held in Utah on the Saturday, January 28, 2023, from one o’clock in the afternoon to three o’clock in the afternoon at the Magnolia Grove Reception Center, located at 1117 W. South Jordan Pkwy in South Jordan, Utah. Visit www.McLaughlinMortuary.com to see or leave online condolences; the website can also be used for this purpose.
