James Hiller Death, Obituary – On November 30, 2022, James Joseph (Jim) Hiller passed away with his wife of 53 years, Beverly (Bev), by his side when he took his last breath. Jim Hiller was the son of the late Melvin J. Hiller and Marjorie Marie Weston. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on December 16, 1944, however he spent his childhood in Yale, Michigan. His younger brother Michael Hiller Hiller is the one who passed away before him. In 1998, Jim and Bev moved to Florida, then in 2013, they relocated to Kings Point, also in Florida. Jim is survived by his two dedicated daughters, their families, and seven grandchildren.
Kellie Hiller Kuhn (Tom Kuhn) and Sara Hiller Wallon (Randy Wallon) are Jim’s daughters, and Tom Kuhn and Randy Wallon are Jim’s grandchildren. For the most of his 52-year career, Jim served as a life insurance agent and general manager. He possessed an intuitive understanding of people and was deeply committed to meeting the requirements of his customers. He worked for the National Life and Accident Insurance Co., the American General Life Insurance Co., and the Gleaner Life Insurance Society, and he was known for his reliability and commitment to his jobs. Jim was a practical joker with no limits and loved to talk about the adventures he and Bev had on their travels across the world.
They went visited countries and cities such as Israel, Australia, Vanuatu, Singapore, and Italy on their travels across the world. In 2006, Jim even traveled to Cuba with some of his friends. Jim was an advocate for the rights of gun owners in addition to his hobbies, which included scuba diving, golfing, and shooting sporting clays. Jim was a devout follower of the Catholic faith and a dedicated volunteer. He was a volunteer probation officer in the state of Michigan, elected as a precinct delegate for the Republican Party in the state of Michigan, President of the Kiwanis Club in Garden City, Michigan, a volunteer ambulance driver in Sun City, Florida, Vice President of the Bay Area Arbor in Sun City, Florida, and a past master of the Masonic Desota Lodge.
All of these positions were held by him (FL). On December 19 at 10:00 in the morning, there will be a Mass held at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City, Florida, and immediately afterward, there will be a luncheon served at the Kings Point North Club in the Waterside Room. Invite your loved ones and close friends. Donations to Lifepath Hospice in Ruskin, Florida, are being requested in lieu of traditional floral tributes by the family.
