Jean Antonation Obituary, Death – The news of the deaths of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and baba all occurred at the same time, and it is with a heavy heart that we pass along this information. Jean Antonation (née Tkachuk), who had reached the age of 92 at the time of her death on Monday, December 12, 2022, died away in a tranquil and peaceful manner. Jean Tkachuk was conceived on October 9th, 1930 in Vita, Manitoba, by her parents, Evelyn and George Tkachuk.
Her parents were named after her grandfather, George Tkachuk. In 1950, she tied the knot with Ralph Antonation, and the newlyweds settled down in Brandon to raise their family. Before Jean was able to retire and devote all of her time to providing care for her husband of 56 years, she worked a variety of jobs, including waitressing, at Metev Woolen Mills, and, as her final job, at Perths. Prior to her retirement, Jean was able to devote all of her time to providing care for her husband.
Her pastimes included doing whizword puzzles, watching game shows and cooking shows, playing TV Bingo, and cooking. She also enjoyed watching game shows. Her sons Garry (Brenda) and Jerry (Darlene), her daughters Shirley (Steve) Jackson, Patsy Schepp, and Janie (Lawrence) Humeniuk, her 20 grandchildren, and her 21 great grandchildren, as well as her brother Peter (Niki) Tkachuk of Winnipeg, will all remember Jean with a great deal of affection.
She will also be remembered by her 21 great grandchildren. Her parents, George and Evelyn Tkachuk, her husband Ralph, her brother Maurice, her sister Elsie, and her infant brother Matthew all passed away before she did. Her infant brother Matthew’s name was Matthew. There will be no memorial service because Jean requested that it not be held. The kind offer of flowers is gratefully accepted but respectfully denied. You are more than welcome to make memorial contributions in honor of Jean to any charity that you see fit. Jean was very generous.
