Jessy McLaughlan Death, Obituary – A recent passing took the life of Jessy McLaughlan, who was a fellow member of the SDTA Ballroom Branch. Please accept our condolences on the loss of your loved one. Despite the great sorrow we feel about the situation, we go ahead and do it. Before Jessy Coleman began her career as a dance instructor, she and her husband at the time, Jimmy Coleman, had a very successful career as competitive dancers. Jimmy Coleman is now Jessy’s current husband. She was a frequent judge in ballroom contests throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and she held qualifications in a range of various dance forms.
Her career spanned the decades between 1960 and 1970. She was an Examiner for the SDTA’s Ballroom Branch, and she and Miss Georgette Cairns were the ones who created the first Line Dance and Salsa syllabi for the SDTA. She worked for the SDTA. She was a member of the SDTA despite not working there.
At this time, we want Jessy’s family to know that they are in our thoughts and prayers. We are thinking about and praying for them. I ask that you continue to remember them in your prayers and thoughts as well.
On Monday, December 19, at 10:45 in the morning, her cremation will take place at Maryhill Crematorium. Her funeral will be held on that day.
