Mark Hanna Obituary, Death – On Saturday, December 10th, 2022, she was 68 years old when she passed away. Gerald Hanna, his father, passed away before he was born. Survived by his wife Katherine Hanna of 46 years; daughters Joanne (David) Jennings of Webster, Laurie (Roland) Sherman of Cape Vincent and Casey Lynn Hanna (Ott) of Honeoye; granddaughters Leah and Juliana Ott; his mother Joan Hanna; brothers Mike (Mary Kay) Hanna of Rochester, Matthew (Tina) Hanna of Pittsford, Patrick (Mary Ann) Hanna of Rochester and Jed Jr Mark is a graduate of both McQuaid Jesuit High School (1972) and the United States Military Academy at West Point (1976) Mark was a co-owner of both Abrasive Tool Corporation and Cape Vincent Brewing Company, both of which he ran with great diligence and commitment.
Joan could always count on him to be a dependable and courageous son. He had many passions in life, including football, music, dogs, and the river, but his family was his number one priority. Do not be sad, and do not speak of me while crying; instead, make jokes about me and talk about me as if I were right there with you. I loved you so much, and being in this place with you seemed like heaven.
Mark was always our hero; he showed us how to live, and more importantly, he showed us how to suffer without taking it out on other people. He will be greatly missed by all of us. “I hope Army wins and beats Navy.” At the Profetta Funeral Chapel, which is located at 1650 Empire Blvd., the family and friends of the deceased are invited to visit on Wednesday, December 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. At 11 o’clock in the morning on Thursday, December 15, a Funeral Mass for Mark will be held at St. Jerome’s Church. St. Vincent of Paul Catholic Cemetery in Cape Vincent, New York will be the location of the interment service on Saturday, December 17th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Tunnel to Towers at www.t2t.org; St. Jerome’s Church or St. Vincent of Paul Church in Cape Vincent, New York; or the American Cancer Society.
