Raymond Leddy Death, Obituary – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is now conducting an investigation into the fatal incident that occurred between a car and a bicyclist on Wednesday evening. The collision resulted in the death of one of the parties involved. The incident ultimately led to the death of the cyclist that was involved. The collision proved fatal for the cyclist who was operating the motorcycle at the time. According to the police, officers from Polk County and members of the Polk County Fire Rescue were dispatched to the intersection of State Route 60 and Myrtle Avenue at approximately 5:50 in the evening. The intersection is located at a busy intersection.
Raymond Leddy, a resident of Lake Wales who was 77 years old at the time of the authorities’ arrival, had already passed away prior to their arrival, the authorities found out when they arrived at the site and uncovered this information. The police noticed that Leddy was riding a Schwinn tricycle after he crossed State Route 60 and into the center turn lane at the median break. As a result, they pulled over to conduct an investigation and detained Leddy. They arrived to the conclusion that Leddy had been operating the tricycle during the time period in question after completing additional study which led them to this finding.
