Richard Lane Obituary, Death – Richard Austin Lane, who had resided in Greensboro, North Carolina all of his life and had reached the age of 73 at the time of his passing on December 10, 2022, passed away. Richard will be honored with a memorial service on the afternoon of Monday, December 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, which is located at 617 N. Elm Street in Greensboro, North Carolina 27401. The reception will take place in the church’s Mullin Center.
LANE, Richard M. “Ricky” Jr., of South Boston, Massachusetts, on December 18th, 2021, in Beverly Hills. cherished offspring of Atty. Richard M. Lane, a resident of South Boston, and Virginia “Ginny” Tomasini Lane, an attorney with offices in both South Boston and Pocasset, are the parties involved. Beloved brother of David E. “Bouge” Lane of South Boston and Andrew C. Lane, BFD, and his wife, Allison, BPD, all of Dorchester. Kirstin Lane’s loving godfather and devoted uncle; Juliette and Kirstin Lane’s neighbor and friend in Dorchester.
Beloved grandson of the late Edward and Helena Lane of South Boston, as well as Raymond Tomasini and Rita Walsh-Tomasini, who is the current president of the Boston School Committee. A much loved nephew of Judy (Joe) King, Edward (the late Dee Dee) Lane of South Boston, Ray Tomasini, Jr. (Peggy), Chris (Dawn) Tomasini, Mark Tomasini, and Andrew Tomasini, all of Dorchester, Massachusetts. Mark Goodman thanks you for being his “honorary brother.” BC I graduated from high school in 1999. I served in the Army of the United States. Ricky was a member of the MR8 Martin Richard Foundation Boston Marathon 2015-2016 and believed young Martin to be a Guardian Angel.

Thank you. Ricky played the character of “Sully” John Sullivan, the best friend of Jeff Bauman, who was injured in the Boston Marathon Bombing, upon which the book and film were based. Ricky’s role as “Sully” John Sullivan was the fourth lead role in the Stronger movie. During the premiere of the film, which took place in September 2017 at the Toronto International Film Festival, Ricky strutted his stuff with pride on the red carpet. His professional acting and theater work was well regarded among the acting circles of both Hollywood and Boston.
