Robert Huntington Obituary, Death – Robert “Bob” Huntington, 95, of East Hartford, Connecticut, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. He had been a resident of East Hartford all of his life. After 64 years of marriage, he was the devoted spouse of Mary Jane (Balchunas) Huntington, who passed away. Mary Jane (Balchunas) Huntington was the name of his former partner in conjugal life.
Before he was born on February 6, 1927 in Hartford, both of his parents, Floyd and Gladys (Brusie) Huntington, had passed away. His birth date is significant because both of his parents died before he was born. Floyd and Gladys Huntington were his parents, and he was their son. Bob, at the age of 17, joined the United States Navy so that he might serve his country during World War II. He did this in order to fulfill his patriotic duty.
Following his two years of military service, he returned to his hometown in order to complete his schooling. In the end, he received his diploma from East Hartford High School and married Mary Jane, the student at East Hartford High School whom he had a crush on when they were both students there. Following that, Bob was summoned back to active duty with the Navy for a cumulative total of two further years during the length of the Korean War.
Football was one of his favorite sports, and he played it to the point where he was able to compete at a level that was called semi-professional. In addition to that, he was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox, as well as the sport of horse racing in general and the Triple Crown in particular. Moreover, he was an avid sports fan. In addition to that, he had great pleasure in watching competitions in several other sports. At Connecticut Mutual Insurance Company, Bob worked as a data analyst for more than 40 years, a position he kept for the entirety of his career there.
