Carman Johnson Obituary, Death – On December 15, 2022, Carman Johnson, who had lived in Hopkinsville, Kentucky all of his 88 years, passed away at the Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville. Carman Johnson’s age at death was 88. Both of his parents, Samuel Johnson and Jane (Manire) Johnson, had passed away prior to his birth on August 23, 1934 in Christian County, Kentucky. He was the son of Samuel Johnson and Jane (Manire) Johnson.
After completing his time in the United States Army, he started his job as an underground mechanic in the coal mines of West Virginia and Kentucky. He worked in this capacity for the following four decades and never left the industry. He had a passion for automobiles and for maintaining his own vehicles, in addition to his enjoyment of travelling on exciting excursions. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Johnson.
Darrell Johnson passed away before him. Both of his parents and his sibling had already passed away before he was born. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Glenda Roberts Johnson of Hopkinsville; his step son, Joe (Kathy) Chewning of Cerulean, Kentucky; his step daughter, Stephanie Perkins (Ramesh Rajan) of San Jose, California; his step granddaughter, Sara Croom; his step great granddaughter, Ava Croom; and his sisters.

On the day of the funeral, which will be on December 18, 2022, the family will begin to accept friends at one in the afternoon and will continue to do so up to the start of the funeral ceremony at two. The service will begin at two in the afternoon. The Reverend David Banister has been asked to serve as the officiant for the event.
