Carol Cooper Death, Obituary – Carol B. Cooper, who had spent her entire life in the city of Valdese, North Carolina, passed away on December 13, 2022. She had been a resident of the city her entire life. She was well into her 90s at that point. She lost both of her parents, Claywell Bryant and Tempa Olive Denton Bryant, before she was born on December 11, 1932 in Burke County, North Carolina. Her parents had passed away before to her birth on that date. She was given the name of her mother, who had passed away. Carol was a highly active member of the organisation and sung in the chorus at the Drexel First Baptist Church, which she attended on a regular basis. In addition, she was a member of the choir.
She was an active participant in the activities of the Choraleers, the Drexel Garden Club, and the Mimosa Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star for an extended period of time and was a member of those organisations for a significant amount of time. Carol’s nursing career spanned decades, and she spent much of that time working under the supervision of two different doctors: C.J. Dellinger and Ralph Hogshead. Grace Hospital School of Nursing is where she completed both her nursing education and accreditation to become a nurse. After working at Valdese Hospital, she moved on to become the nursing director at Forest Retirement. Then, after working at Western Carolina Center, she decided to take an early retirement from that facility.
Carol is survived by her son, Dennis Cooper; daughters, Susan Verble (Avery) and Debra Watts; granddaughters Christy Fleming (Andrew), Kelsey Cooper, and Joey Waters; four great-grandchildren Graham Fleming Elizabeth Brown, Alex Brown, and Hannah Fleming; her brother, Bill Bryant; and a large number of nieces and nephews. Carol also leaves behind a large number of cousins and other relatives. On April 15, 2019, Carol passed away after a long battle with cancer. Her parents, her husband, Noland Kay Cooper, and her brother, Max Bryant, all gone away prior to Carol’s passing away. Carol was the only member of her immediate family to have made it through life.
The family will host a visitation at Drexel First Baptist Church on the afternoon of Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., where friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects. The memorial service will be held in honour of the person who has passed away. The funeral will be held at the church at three o’clock in the afternoon, and Pastor Mike Chandler will preside over the service.
